Employment

In addition to Employment Tribunal work, members of the employment team also provide representation, if necessary, at the various appellate stages.

All barristers in the 7 Harrington Street Chambers employment law team act for employers and employees on a regular basis.  The Chambers employment team is able to provide a full service in relation to all employment law matters, both contentious and non-contentious. In doing so, it is recognised that the input and advice of experienced employment lawyers at an early stage will often provide the basis upon which steps can be taken to avoid a potential dispute escalating into litigation, or at least to best protect the position of the client. Instructions are accepted across the entire spectrum of employment law cases.

In addition to Employment Tribunal work, members of the employment team also provide representation, if necessary, at the various appellate stages, from the Employment Appeal Tribunal up to Supreme Court, as well as appearing in employment cases where these fall within the jurisdiction of the High Court or County Court.

The employment team is led by Tim Kenward who is particularly well known for his public sector employment work, being regularly instructed by local and other authorities, and in school employment cases, but balances this work, where possible, with work on behalf of unions.
