Prior to transferring to the Bar and joining Chambers, Miss Boardman was an experienced Solicitor specialising in Family Law. Since 2005, she has established herself as a leading practitioner in Family Law and her reputation has led to many new personal referrals from former clients and fellow legal professionals. She brought her wealth of experience to Chambers in 2015 where she continues to practise exclusively in Family Law.
Miss Boardman has a particular specialism in Divorce and Financial Orders. As a solicitor she specialised in High Net Worth cases and continues to do so now at the Bar. She has gained a reputation for expertise in this field and commitment to achieving the best possible result for the client. She is able to take a commercial and pragmatic approach to cases and advise on the instruction of required experts such as pension actuaries or forensic accountants.
In addition, Miss Boardman has a wealth of experience in cases involving children, successfully representing clients in Child Arrangement Orders (Residence and Contact), Prohibited Steps and Specific Issue Orders, Relocation and Removal from the Jurisdiction applications. She has been instructed in Financial Provision for Children and CSA appeals. She is known for a tactful and sympathetic approach, excellent negotiation skills and the ability to gain a positive result for the client.
Miss Boardman has successfully represented clients in complex cases involving Trusts of Land and Appointment of Trustees Act 1996 and has a particular knowledge of the relevant Land Law in such matters. She has represented clients in co-habitee disputes and as third party interveners, together with applications for Injunctions (Non-Molestation and Occupation orders).
Further, Miss Boardman is regularly instructed in Public Law matters involving Care, Supervision, Emergency Protection Orders, Adoption and Special Guardianship Orders. She is instructed by the Local Authority, parents and grandparents, and is able to accept instructions on short notice for ex-parte emergency applications.
Miss Boardman prides herself in her meticulous preparation for cases, robust advocacy, and strong communication and negotiation skills.
