Miss Parr has experience in representing Claimants and Defendants in RTA and personal injury cases. Miss Parr is regularly instructed in Stage 3 hearings, disposals, applications and trials.
Miss Parr is a CPS Level 1 Prosecutor
She both prosecutes and defends and has experience in dealing with youths, vulnerable persons and those with mental health issues.
Miss Parr's experience as a criminal practitioner has been in cases involving allegations of violence, fraud, road traffic offences, drug offences and dishonesty offences.
Miss Parr has acted in regulatory matters involving the Environment Agency, Ofcom and RSPCA. Miss Parr takes a particular interest in Proceeds of Crime Act matters and has acted for the UK Border Agency in confiscation proceedings.
Miss Parr represents parents and Local Authorities in care proceedings and applications for residence and contact, specific issue orders and prohibited steps orders. She has experience of complex cases involvng implacable hostility and intractable contact disputes in private law cases.
Margaret is experienced in cases involving allegations of domestic violence, substance misuse, mental health issues and neglect.
An experienced trial advocate, Miss Parr is able to use her trial skills in contested final hearings and finding of fact hearings. She also represents clients in non-molestation injunctions and occupation orders under the Family Law Act.
Miss Parr acts in ancillary relief proceedings, including those involving pensions and company assets.
Miss Parr is thorough in her presentation of cases and is noted for her client care including her approachable and sympathetic manner.
Margaret is content to advise in conference in advance of hearings.
Areas of Practice
Miss Parr's practice is primarily focused on family law, including ancillary relief, injunctive relief and public and private law children applications. Miss Parr has appeared before the Court of Appeal. She is also instructed in criminal cases, for both Prosecution and Defence in the Youth Court, Magistrates Court and the Crown Court. Miss Parr also undertakes a range of personal injury and common law civil work.
Miss Parr provides training for individual firms of solicitors by invitation in Preston, Liverpool and Chester.
