Jurors in the attempted murder trial of convicted baby killer Lucy Letby have been told to “decide the case on the evidence placed before you and nothing else”.

Letby, 34, is accused of the attempted murder of an infant known as Child K on 17 February 2016.

Trial judge Mr Justice Goss told the jury, on Tuesday 11 June, at Manchester Crown Court the defendant was convicted almost a year ago of having murdered a number of babies and attempted to have murdered others.

Nick Johnson KC will open the prosecution’s case on Wednesday morning.
