Tim Grover Settles Amputation Claim For £1.5 Million

Tim Grover has settled a claim on behalf of a claimant motorcyclist who suffered a transtibial amputation of his right lower leg as a consequence of injuries sustained in a road traffic collision for £1.5 million.

Primary liability for the collision was admitted on behalf of the defendant, but dashcam footage provided by an independent witness appeared to show the Claimant riding his motorcycle significantly in excess of the 30mph speed limit.

Accordingly, although the extent of the claimant’s contributory negligence was not formally agreed, the full liability value of the claim, which included contested claims for future loss of earnings (the claimant had a chequered work history and had not worked for a significant period of time prior to the collision due to unrelated ill-heath issues), future care and assistance, future cost of prosthetics, future cost of aids and equipment, future cost of DIY/gardening and future additional cost of accommodation, would have been in the region of £2.3 million.
