Miss Thomas is experienced in all stages of litigation from first appointment/directions hearings through to finding of fact and final hearings.

She is happy to accept ex-parte instructions at short notice.

Conferences can be arranged at all stages of proceedings.

Areas of Practice

 After completing a mixed common law pupillage at 7HS Chambers in 2012 Miss Thomas cultivated a buoyant practice in all aspects of civil litigation, but primarily road traffic accidents resulting in personal injury.  

 Miss Thomas is regularly instructed to represent both Claimants and Defendants in fast track and multi track claims involving LVI, Fraud and Credit Hire.

 From pre-issue advice on the merits of a claim or defence to representation at trial and the detailed assessment of costs Ð Miss Thomas is experienced in advising, drafting and advocacy.

 Well known for her conscientious approach to client care Miss Thomas aims to return written work within 7 days and is committed to providing her clients with a comprehensive note/explanation of what happened at Court that same day.

The MOJ Portal has created a new type of litigation Ð Stage 3 hearings. Aimed at simplifying the assessment of damages the Portal has brought with it new challenges for both Claimants and Defendants. With an almost even split of claiming and defending at stage 3 hearings Miss Thomas is alive to all the latest legal and tactical arguments to raise and respond to. She often provides her instructing solicitors with either a written summary of new developments at Court or will deliver informal and interactive training sessions so her clients keep ahead of any changes that may affect their results.

In recent years Miss Thomas has been go to Counsel for advice and representation in cases where fundamental dishonesty has been raised, particularly following discontinuance. She is regularly instructed in cases where the disapplication of a Claimants QOWCS protection is challenged.

As well as RTAs Miss Thomas has experience in Professional and Clinical Negligence cases, Employers Liability and Public Liability cases, Claims against Highways Authorities, Contract Disputes and Consumer Law, Landlord and Tenant disputes, Holiday Claims.

She is one of the few barristers in Chambers who successfully manages to practice in two areas of law keeping a busy family practice as well as her civil work. Acting for parents in Private Law proceedings, Local Authorities, parents and children in Public Law Proceedings and accepting instructions on divorce and ancillary relief matters Miss Thomas enjoys her well balanced and varied practice.  

She is qualified to accept instructions direct from the public and regularly does so. This can assist professional clients where conflicts of interest or funding problems arise.
