Matthew acts predominantly for the Claimant in matters of personal injury and is regularly instructed to appear at interlocutory hearings, small claims and fast track trials.
Matthew is also an accredited Civil & Commercial Mediator.
Matthew acts for both the Prosecution and Defence in all matters of criminal law. Throughout his second six he appeared in numerous trials in the Magistrates Court dealing with a wide variety of offences and conducted sentences and appeals in the Crown Court. Matthew is currently a Level 1 CPS Panel Advocate.
Matthew has also been instructed on a number of private and public law child cases.
Areas of Practice
Matthew joined Chambers in September 2018 following a successful completion of his pupillage under the supervision of Mr Fraser Lindsay.
Prior to pupillage Matthew was a Legal Research Assistant working in the disclosure department on behalf of the Claimants in the "Kenyan Emergency Group Litigation". The case was one of the largest Group Litigation Orders in Europe. As well as analysing documents from a disclosure that exceeded two-hundred thousand pages, Matthew worked closely with the lead solicitors and counsel and conducted research in preparation for the drafting of statements of case and witness examinations.
