Miss McLachlan was called to the Bar in 2024, and joined chambers in 2025 after successfully completing a common law pupillage under the supervision of Mr William Beardmore.
Since joining chambers, Miss McLachlan has developed a busy mixed practice across criminal, civil and family law.
In crime, Miss McLachlan appears regularly in the Crown Court and Magistrates’ Court. She is a Level 2 CPS Advocate, and is experienced at all stages of proceedings, acting for both prosecution and defence. Recent instructions have included acting as a led junior in both prosecution and defence cases concerning conspiracy to supply Class A drugs and firearms.
In civil matters, Miss McLachlan has experience in trials with varying complexity and value. She is regularly instructed to advise on both liability and quantum, and to represent clients at trial.
In family matters, Miss McLachlan acts on behalf of the Local Authority and parents in both public and private law matters. She has experience in cases involving allegations of physical abuse, domestic violence and neglect.
