During the first half of his pupillage, Mr Birch gained experience in a wide range of criminal, family and civil proceedings. He played an active role in case preparation and drafting.

Mr Birch has completed pupillage training in advocacy and ethics and has undertaken additional training in representing children in conflict with the law.
